Integration of security system

Unread post by vedard »

Security System Integration is based on big data, oriented to information Integration, with good stability. The integration platform should be able to completely realize the functional integration, network integration, interface integration. It will integrate and process the system of alarm, access control, video surveillance, patrolling, fire control, environmental monitoring, intercom, etc all kinds of information resources. The networking equipment, users, network, security, business should be comprehensive managed, and it provides the business with a third party system and other application platform interface. It realizes the resource sharing between different systems and information integration, has high efficiency and convenient for the user by providing intelligence, stability, security management.
Large and medium-sized security projects have to be managed in different ways due to different procurement periods and different product brands of different categories, which makes the security management personnel do not know how to issue the corresponding instructions when the incident occurs. As a result, the slow response rate of events is often the main cause of user complaints and a source of pain for managers.
Therefore, a management platform can completely solve the management of different security control equipment, and can operate on a single integrated management interface, which has become the fervent expectation of many security control managers.
OnVIF is a unified network camera image transmission protocol. In May 2013, OnVIF officially launched the common Control standard of Access Control system, OnVIF Door Control Service and OnVIF Access Control Service, which officially began to enter various security Control fields besides image monitoring. The webcams, which the brands claim are compatible with OnVIF, are connected to NVR software or hardware, and sometimes only show images rather than advanced features such as PTZ. Worse, they don't even show pictures.
PSIA also formed an alliance of security control agreements in 2008. Which one will become the standard protocol? Who knows?

Multi-system integration software is such a platform, it built in a variety of brand security equipment communication protocol, also can automatically switch the specifications of each system, so that the same computer, and the communication, setting and management of multiple security equipment. For example, the coding problem of different card Numbers of access control can be automatically converted through the software function, so that the user as long as a time to read the card, can automatically issue the card to each access control machine, no matter the code inside and outside the code encryption once done, save a lot of trouble.
Different communication interfaces, such as RS-485 and Ethernet, can also be automatically communicated with each security control device by software through different communication interfaces on the management computer, thus completely eliminating the gap between Ethernet and serial communication interfaces and enabling unified management of all communication interface security control devices.

3 ways of security system integration

Unread post by vedard »

Security system integration will be in different ways according to the specific project, the implementation difficulty, cost, integration degree, stability and other aspects of the project requirement.
1. Traditional hard connection
This way is to take the dry contacts relay as integrated connection way of "hard" integration. It is the main form of early security linkage for fire control, security, entrance guard system, monitoring system between each other and using the input/output module connection. Then through programming complete their system integration linkage function. The system only responsible for the logical relationship between the input and output of this system. The integration mode belongs to "device level" integration, which has the advantages of stability, reliability and easy implementation. However, in larger system applications, the integration requires the subsystem to provide a large number of alarm input and output interfaces, to configure a large number of input and output extension modules, and to use a large number of cables to achieve the integration of the corresponding connection relationship between each subsystem.
2. Integration by serial command
Each subsystem communicates with each other through serial port connection. On the basis of the original system, there is no need to add any hardware equipment, also does not need to carry on any secondary development work. A security integration system can be built for the linkage of each application subsystem in the defense area. This integration way requires the high openness of each subsystem, which is interconnected through open protocols.Early access control and matrix, theft and matrix often use this way. On this way, in the access control workstation can do video switching, PTZ control, relay control, alarm system arm/disarm, video patrol and other control. This method requires direct connection between subsystems, such as access control workstation and matrix, and physical location between matrix and anti-theft host (serial port distance limit), instead of decentralized deployment (via network communication).
3. OPC integration way
OPC(OLE for Process Control) is an industry standard used to facilitate data transfer between different systems, such as BAS and BMS or SAS and BMS. The standard describes OPC COM controls, and the interface between them is performed by OPC servers.Communication between OPC client and OPC server is realized through Ethernet protocol TCP/IP. OPC client and OPC server can convert and transmit data between security system and third-party workstations supporting OPC server. The operator can monitor the values of the third party system information points, obtain point information and point data, set point values, and obtain alarm and event reports. Each subsystem realizes data interaction with field equipment conforming to OPC specification through OPC client interface, and each application software of the CENTRAL workstation realizes data interaction with each subsystem providing OPC server interface through OPC client interface. In this way, through the standardized OPC client interface and OPC server interface, the CENTRAL workstation can communicate with each subsystem and field equipment for data communication, so as to achieve the purpose of control and management, and realize the integration of the system.

The importance of CCTV and alarm system integration

Unread post by vedard »

The security system engineer said it is important to have CCTV and alarm system integrated. In many security projects, CCTV and alarm system are separated or linked passively. Even only CCTV or alarm system is installed.
Alarm system will detect intrusion or danger via installed motion sensor, door or window magnetic contact, infrared beams, water leakage detector, smoke detector etc. Then it sends text or voice alarm report. But without video evidence, it is hard to identify whether it is false alarm. CCTV is the system to provide video evidence for identification and event record.
So, the integration of CCTV and alarm system makes the security system accurate and reliable.
PSTN network alarm is old traditional alarm system. It takes about 20s to receive the alarm information. New network TCP/IP or GPRS, 4G network takes 1-2s to receive the alarm information. Moreover, the 4G network and WIFI network has enabled the integration of CCTV and alarm system to send video alarm and text, voice alarm at the same time.

I am building a new home near the ocean shore. I have had many battery short life problems with wireless sensors so I prefer hardwired sensors door/window & motion detection. Any recommendations for a good security system with good zwave/Vera compatibility?
Thanks

A good security rule is: "if you dont use it, disable it. Even better, remove it."

The OpenBSD base install has various system daemons that I will never need, like for example httpd I use OpenBSD as a desktop OS.

How could I actually remove them not just disable them ?

An 'integrated security system', for example, usually refers to the combining or 'integrating' of two or more electronic security systems, such as access control, video surveillance and intruder detection.Integrated systems communicate and work together. For example, when you combine access control with video surveillance, you can match the time stamp from the slope unblocked access control with the video. Think how much more work it would be if the two systems worked in a silo.Surveillance cameras vary depending on their placement, environment, and features. Common types of surveillance cameras that are used in integrated security systems include dome cameras, fixed network cameras, axis cameras, tilt and pan cameras, and positioning cameras for auto-tracking.One of the primary benefits of an integrated security system is enhanced security. Businesses can benefit from a more comprehensive security solution by consolidating various security solutions like access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection into a single system.
