Types of Driveway Alarm System

Unread post by vedard »

Driveway Alarm System is an outdoor detector installed on the driveway leading to your house or the entrance of the aisle. When the detector detects people or vehicles entering the area, it will immediately send a wireless signal to the indoor receiver. The indoor receiver receives the signal and sends a bell warning. Driveway Alarm System can also be used to protect backyards, garages, farms, etc.
1. Passive infrared detector
Passive infrared detector is to detect the temperature of moving objects, such as human body, animals, started vehicles and so on, when passing through the protection area of the detector, it will be detected, and then converted into an alarm signal and reported to the receiving host.
Solar passive infrared detector is specially designed for outdoor safety protection. IP66 weatherproof can be used in extreme weather condition and without wiring or battery replace requirement.

2. Metal detector
Metal detectors detect metal objects and send alarm signals. The metal detector on the driveway alarm is basically divided into two parts. One is the metal detection sensor, which is generally buried in the ground near the driveway or aisle. The detection range is generally a circle with a radius of 1-3 meters; The other is a wireless signal transmitter, which is wired to a metal-detecting sensor. When a metal object is detected, it sends an alarm signal to the receiving host in the room through this wireless transmitter. The false alarm rate of the metal detector is better controlled because it only detects metal and is buried in the ground, which is less affected by animals moving on the ground, wind and rain.
But metal detectors only detect vehicles. Besides, installation and maintenance are complicated, they need to be buried underground, and the wiring is easy to be damaged by rodents.

3. Active infrared beam sensor
Active infrared beams works in pairs, it is divided into transmitter and receiving terminal; In normal operation, infrared beam is sent by the transmitting end, and infrared beam is received by the receiving end. When an object completely blocks these infrared beams, an alarm signal will be issued immediately.
The operating reliability of active infrared beam is the highest. New technologies such as solar power supply and liquid crystal calibration are adopted to greatly simplify the installation and maintenance of the new solar beam sensor.
