Attentions for Installation of Passive Infrared Detector

Unread post by vedard »

Because passive infrared detector is a weak signal detection equipment, we must pay attention to some details in installation, such as height, sensitivity and so on. To install a passive infrared detector correctly, we must grasp the following information: firstly, we must understand the performance characteristics of the detector, secondly, we must determine the installation location reasonably, and finally, we must carefully debug. We can not say that the detector can alarm is well installed. So how to determine the installation location of a passive infrared detector?
Determine the normal installation angle according to the instructions
Installation height is not arbitrary, it will affect the sensitivity of the detector and the effect of preventing pets. If a detector is installed at 2M and 2.5 m altitudes, when moving objects move from the ground, the frequency of cutting bright and dark areas is different.

Do not install the detector face glass doors and windows

Unread post by vedard »

Passive infrared detectors have two problems when they are facing glass doors and windows. One is white light interference. It is obvious that PIR has a strong suppression function on white light, but it is not 100% suppression. Therefore, the interference of strong light can be avoided by avoiding direct glass doors and windows. The second is to avoid complex environmental interference outside doors and windows, such as crowd flow, vehicles and so on.

do to install the detector face to cold and hot vents or cold and heat sources

Unread post by vedard »

The induction of passive infrared detectors is closely related to the change of temperature. Both cold and hot vents and cold and heat sources may cause false alarm of detectors. For some low performance detectors, sometimes air convection through doors and windows can also cause false alarm.

Avoid false alarm from wrong installation location

Unread post by vedard »

The oscillating object will make the microwave detector work, so it may also cause false alarm. In ancient times, the purpose of installing detectors in illegal intrusion routes was to prevent the illegal intrusion of criminals. Before determining the installation location, the main population of buildings must be considered. In fact, we must have achieved our goal by preventing entry and exit and cutting off illegal intrusion routes.

Select correct type infrared detector

Unread post by vedard »

Reasonable Type Selection
Passive infrared detectors have many types. From 6m to 60m, from single infrared to three technologies, from wall-mounted to ceiling-suction, the detectors for installation must take into account the size of the guard space, the surrounding environment, the characteristics of the entrance and exit, etc. Sometimes Fresnel lenses should be replaced to meet the requirements.

Test and debug of infrared detector

Unread post by vedard »

debugging
After installing the detector, debugging the detector is the last thing to do. There are two methods for the debugging of passive infrared detectors. One is walking measurement. The debugger walk in S-shaped at the warning area to sense the length and width of the warning range.
Both microwave sensitivity and infrared sensitivity should be adjusted by walk measurement test, too high or too low sensitivity will affect the preventive effect. Sometimes due to seasonal changes, the sensitivity should be adjusted in winter and summer respectively. Microwave sensitivity must not be too high, because microwave has penetrativity, we should pay attention to it when debugging.

The second method is instrument measurement. Some detectors have background noise voltage output interface. When the detector is on guard, the output voltage of its static background noise indicates the interference degree of the interference source, so as to determine whether this position is suitable for installing such detectors.

did you see the instructions that show how to do that in the Vera interface?

In my opinion you can also take help from any security guard company. They will provide you the best quality camera and remove the headache of installation.
