Conventional fire alarm system installation

Unread post by vedard »

The conventional fire alarm system is based on analog electrical system. Conventional fire alarm systems are still used on smaller sites such as small schools, stores, restaurants, and apartments with smaller building sizes and lower budget.
The main difference between conventional fire alarm and addressable fire alarm is the configuration or the connection of the devices with the main control panel.
Each circuit connected with the main panel of conventional fire alarm system is used for monitoring a specified area known as zones. For example, each floor of a multi-storied building can be divided into zones. Each floor has multiple sensors and detectors connected with the main control panel through a single circuit.

There are 2 zones, 4 zones, 8 zones and 16 zones conventional fire alarm control panel. Each zone can equip with 20-25 smoke detector, heat detector, manual call point, gas sensor etc. So total 40 -300 detectors can be equipped for a conventional fire alarm control panel.
The price of a conventional fire alarm control panel is USD100 to USD250.
For addressable fire alarm control panel, it has 1 loop, 2 loop, 4 loop, 6 loops. Each loop has 200 points to equip with 200 fire detection sensors, smoke detector, heat detector, gas sensor and manual call point, siren strobe.
The price of an addressable fire alarm control panel is much higher than conventional fire alarm control panel. A one-loop addressable fire alarm control panel will cost USD800-1000.

So, for small size business store, shop, apartments, conventional fire alarm system is used. Even 2 zones conventional fire alarm is enough for a small business place such as family hotel.

Of course, the conventional fire alarm system is required to be installed by professional engineers. The installation method of conventional fire alarm system is same or similar for products from different manufacturers.

2 zone conventional fire alarm panel

Unread post by vedard »

The 2 zones fire alarm control panel is micro-processor controlled and is available with 2 detection zones. The panel has 1 alarm sound output zone (bell zone), a 24 V supply power on fire, one set of volt free changeover contacts which operate on fault, and two sets of volt free changeover contacts which operate on fire.
In addition to the mandatory controls and indications required by the EN54-2/4 standards, Reset, Test, and Silence Alarm/Fault buttons are provided to allow easy operation to the control panel.
There are Master Panel and Slave panel. The slave panel is used to expand to more zones.
2 zones conventional fire alarm panel is mini type and be mounted on wall. The dimension is 108*143*40 mm and weight is 520 g.
So, 2 zones conventional fire alarm panel is very easy to be used for family hotel, stores, shop or any other small business fire security prevention.

Unread post by vedard »

Conventional Fire Alarm Control panel) - referred to as multi-line host or multiple wire controller, Multi-wire control panel, etc.
Main features: power supply voltage AC90-270V, output voltage DC24V each circuit connected to 25 devices.
Power backup: need to be equipped with 2 12V/7A lead-acid battery - otherwise it will report power backup error
display: each smoke sensing circuit has the corresponding fault and fire alarm display lights, as well as the main power, standby power, silence (sound and light), silence (host), the total fault, fire alarm, alarm output circuit display lights.
Two wire conventional smoke/heat/smoke heat detectors: conventional detector is universal, can be connected to any conventional fire alarm host. It can also be used with rolling shutter door control box. After the probe alarms, the signal will be feed back to the controller by pulling down the voltage. The door light (Remote LED) is directly connected to the smoke detector base. After the smoke detector alarms, the corresponding door light will be activated.
Conventional Manual Call Point. The working voltage is DC24V. There are Conventional open connection method, Conventional close connection method (insert the key or pull the key to start the alarm), series connection method (the alarm can be started only when all the hand alarms involved in series operate at the same time) and tandem connection method. The hand signal and smoke sensor are connected in the same loop.
Sound and light alarm (Sound and light alarm/ Sound Strobe), working voltage: DC24V, the scene Sound and light alarm, connected to the alarm output circuit, play a role in fire warning and evacuation.A Strobe, a Bell, is similar to sound and light.
Conventional fire detection control panel and indication control panel designed to meet all the requirements of EN54-2&4 microprocessor-based conventional fire alarm control panel one man test.
4, 8 detection zones panel, 25 detectors per zone
2 relay outputs for fire condition
zones fault LEDs indication, zones isolation LEDs indication
Fault relay output, auxiliary output for 28 Volts
RS485 port for repeater to to 1.2KM
Up to 8 repeaters can be connected to one panel.
