Why should industrial grade explosion-proof gas detectors be used in hotel restaurants

Unread post by vedard »

Why should industrial grade explosion-proof gas detectors be used in hotel restaurants?
There are two types combustible gas detector alarm system. Home security gas alarm and industry gas alarm. The industry gas alarm is with explosion proof function and more features.
Natural gas is mainly used in families, and many company canteens, school canteens and hotels and restaurants also use natural gas. But hotel or company kitchen needs to install industrial natural gas alarms. Why?
1. The household gas consumption is relatively small, and the hotel or company kitchen gas consumption is large. In case of leakage, it is easy to cause serious accidents, so it is necessary to install the industrial-grade gas alarm.
2. Home gas alarms have a small detection range, which is enough for a home, but not for a large kitchen.
3. Hotel, company kitchen safety facilities is relatively complete, the industrial grade natural gas alarm can be linked to control the solenoid valve, exhaust fan and other safety equipment. So, the complete gas security system can prevent disaster.
4. Hotel, company kitchen natural gas pipeline is longer and with more valves, many cookers. The stove always has no function of cutting off the gas source automatically when it is turned off and the pipeline is easy to aging. Therefore, industrial gas alarm is needed to detect and prevent the occurrence of natural gas leakage accidents.

5 common faults of combustible gas detectors

Unread post by Jim »

The combustible gas detector is installed in combustible, toxic, explosive gas environment. It is used to monitor whether there is harmful and dangerous gas leakage in the environment. If the combustible gas detector is malfunctioned, troubleshoot it in time, or replace it. Thus we can ensure the safety of the gas environment and avoid disaster.
1. No indication on detector
Cause: the supplied voltage is not normal. Water flowed into the detector or circuit board failure.
Solution: check the power fuse and power line. Clean and dry the circuit board, replace the circuit board or replace a new detector if necessary.
2. False alarm
Cause: the detector or alarm aging.
Solution: re-calibrate or replace the detector.
3. The concentration indicator does not return to zero
Causes: zero drift. There is residual combustible gas on the probe or Probe aging.
Solution: Re-calibrate zero in clean air environment. Remove the probe cover and clean up the probe dust. Replace probe or meter.
4. Large deviation of concentration display value
Causes: gas concentration of calibration sample does not meet the requirements or probe is aging.
Solution: use qualified sample gas to re-calibrate or replace the new probe.
5. The calibration values are not within the range of the standard value ± 5% LEL
Cause: the flowing gas during calibration is too large or too small. The sample gas has expired or the probe is aging.
Solution: readjust the flow in 0.2 ~ 0.4L/min; Use qualified sample gas;Replace the new probe;

What kind of gas detector is used in underground confined space

Unread post by Jim »

What harmful gases may exist in confined underground Spaces? Hydrogen sulfide gas is readily produced in confined space. In the municipal road construction, the gas pipeline is accidentally damaged, and the gas leaks into the limited space or nearby residential buildings, which will cause the accumulation of carbon monoxide.Benzene, toluene and xylene. When anti corrosive coating is done in a limited space, the volatilization of organic solvents such as benzene, toluene and xylene contained in the coating will lead to an increase in the concentration of toxic gases in a limited space. Hypoxia harms the low concentration of oxygen in the air, which leads to a lack of oxygen.
So hydrogen sulfide gas and carbon monoxide gas detectors are often used in underground confined space gas detectors. And the detector is required to be explosion-proof industrial grade.
