Like Christmas in western countries, Spring Festival is the biggest holiday in China. What do people do on this festival to ring out the old and ring in the new? Sticking couplets and eating New Year's Eve dinner are activities for every family to celebrate the festival. Parents give their children lucky money, wish them healthy and happy growth. Young people show filial piety to their parents by buying them clothes and other gifts and red envelopes. These are New Year's Eve activities.

Paying New Year's greetings begines from the first day of the first lunar month. First of all, pay New Year's greetings to the older members of the family. Then pay New Year's greetings to relatives. Every family prepared candies, drinks and snacks to entertain guests. Married daughters will return to their parents' family reunion on the second day of the first lunar month. The third and fourth day of the first lunar month is a gathering of classmates and friends. Many people leave their hometown to work for a whole year before returning home to reunite with their families during Spring Festival. The short Spring Festival holiday is particularly valuable.
Chinese parents spend a lot of time and energy raising their children. So, it is a Chinese tradition and legal responsibility for children to take care of and support their elderly parents. A healthy and safe family is the best wish, and I wish all the people in the world a healthy and safe New Year.
