There are 2 wires and 4 wires or 6 wires fire hydrant button. What is the difference? Why are there different wiring types of fire hydrant?
For 2 wires fire hydrant button, you just need to wire the 2 wires to the fire alarm control panel.
For 4 wires, there are 2 wires signal lines and need to wire to fire alarm control panel. And other two wires are fire bump starting lines. You need to wire it with fire bump.
For 6 wires, except two lines are signal lines, two lines are pump starting lines, and the other two lines are feedback lines. The feedback lines is connected with bump starting indicator lamp and it will light up the LED indicator when fire bump is started.
Actually, the 2 wires fire hydrant button is new one. And the 4 wire or 6 wires fire hydrant button is old one. When the fire hydrant button connect with fire bump directly, it will start the fire bump directly. And that may mis-start the fire bump and cause loss.
So, fire bump will not be activated by fire hydrant directly. It will be activated by fire alarm control panel with logic judgement. Only after receiving of both alarm signals from hydrant and same fire zone smoke detector, it will activate the fire bump. Or it will activate the fire bump after receiving both hydrant and manual call point alarm signals.
