Are Chinese wifi security cameras safe?

Simply installing a WI-FI camera and using it is not safe. It has little to do with the brand and hardware of the camera. It is because the camera is directly connected to the network, and if a strong password is not set, unnecessary remote access is not turned off, and attacked ports are not disabled, malicious attacks will be launched.

So, for professional home security system, there is a security controller, various sensors including door open sensor, smoke detector, motion sensor, outdoor window grating, water leakage detector, gas leakage detector and ip camera connected to alarm center.

Safety always comes first. So, our family also decided to install an alarm system.
I hesitated for a while when choosing between an alarm system and a camera system. Although cameras may look more intuitive, they are easily vulnerable to damage, and without a widely covered camera network, police assistance may not be significant. More importantly, the camera requires app support, and neighbors may not be able to respond in a timely manner. In contrast, the alarm system has outdoor and indoor alarms, as well as a backup power source that can continue to operate for 6 hours even if the power is cut off. Most importantly, it has a deadly cry that can attract the attention of the police.
We have chosen alarm system for our home, which has three sensors corresponding to the three entrances: living room, kitchen, and laundry room. The sensors in the living room can also detect the situation of both the entrance and the living room at the same time. Before installation, I carefully considered how many sensors were needed and their locations. The alarm is divided into indoor and outdoor, and the outdoor one has a good deterrent effect on intruders.
During the installation process, I also purchased two additional remote controls, one to be placed at the bedside and the other to be carried with me. This allows me to easily turn on and off the system before going to bed, in the morning, when going out, and when returning home. The entire system is also connected to the home WiFi network and can be turned off and on at any time through the app. Other settings, such as delayed activation of the system, can be programmed on app.
After using it for nearly a month, I am very satisfied with this system. Every time I sleep or go out, I feel a lot more at ease, after all, I have two children at home. I hope everyone can find a suitable security system to make their lives more secure.

If there are detectors outdoor, will the theft still invade?

The presence of outdoor detectors can significantly deter theft, but it doesn't guarantee that a theft won't occur. Here are some factors to consider:
Deterrence Effect: Visible detectors, such as security cameras, motion sensors, or alarm systems, can act as a strong deterrent. Potential intruders may think twice before attempting a break-in if they know they are being monitored.
Type of Detectors: The effectiveness of detectors depends on their type and quality. For example, high-resolution cameras with night vision, motion sensors with pet immunity, and alarms with loud sirens can be more effective in preventing theft.
Response Time: Even if detectors are in place, the response time of security personnel or law enforcement is crucial. If the response is slow, thieves might still attempt a break-in, especially if they believe they can complete the theft before being caught.
Perimeter Security: The overall security of the property plays a role. Detectors are just one part of a comprehensive security system. Fences, gates, lighting, and other physical barriers can also help prevent intrusions.
Determination of Intruders: Some thieves may be more determined or desperate, and they might take the risk even if detectors are present. They might also try to disable or bypass the detectors.
False Alarms: If detectors frequently trigger false alarms, it might lead to complacency, where people ignore the alarms, giving thieves an opportunity.
Maintenance and Monitoring: Regular maintenance of detectors and continuous monitoring are essential. Malfunctioning detectors or unmonitored systems can be easily exploited.
In summary, while outdoor detectors can greatly reduce the likelihood of theft, they are not foolproof. A multi-layered security approach, combining detectors with other measures, is the best way to protect property.
