Question: If the fan is manually started on-site through the electrical control cabinet of the smoke extraction fan or supply fan, will the corresponding air outlet automatically open?
Answer: According to Article 4.5.1 of the Design Specification for Automatic Fire Alarm System:
The alarm signal from two independent fire detectors or one fire detector and one manual fire alarm button in the fire compartment where the pressurized air supply outlet is located should be used as the linkage trigger signal for opening the air supply and starting the pressurized air supply fan;
Article 4.5.2 stipulates that the alarm signals from two independent fire detectors within the same smoke control zone should be used as the linkage trigger signal for opening the smoke exhaust outlet or smoke exhaust valve.
Therefore, manually starting the fan will not automatically open the corresponding air outlet.
