Unread post by vedard »

Many DVR and NVR have alarm input and output function, and can be connected to a variety of wired sensors, such as door magnetic contact, smoke detector, infrared beams, motion sensor, alarm output can be connected to alarm lights, alarm horn, alarm siren strobe.
1.From the DVR or NVR panel, you can see whether there is alarm I/O interface.
2.Wiring of alarm device with DVR NVR
Before wiring, please power off the machine.
Wiring Alarm input device
Any alarm device with relay contact output can be wired to the DVR or NVR alarm input. No distinguish between positive and negative poles, just connect the alarm input device relay output to the alarm in and GND wiring to GND of device.
Wiring alarm output device
The alarm output device including alarm horn, siren strobe, alarm light etc.
(1)The alarm output device is powered by DC power
The Alarm Out of the NVR is connected to the negative terminal of the horn or other alarm output device. The positive pole of a horn or alarm siren strobe should be connected to the positive pole of a power supply. GND interface of the NVR should be connected to the negative terminal of the power supply.
Note: for DC power supply, the alarm output should be within the range of 12V 1A
(2)The alarm output device is powered by AC power
If need to connect to AC powered alarm output device, then need to cut off the short jumper JPA1, JPA2, JPA3, JPA4 on the main board. Then add relay 10A 250VAC for connection.
