What is HD surveillance camera?

1. Is 4CIF(704X576) or D1(720480) HD surveillance camera?
No. Only HD 1080P or HD 960P or HD 720P camera is HD surveillance camera.
2. Some manufacturers combine HDVIDEO output from the DVR with a multiplexed D1 screen, is that HD surveillance?
No. HD starts from the front end, and every image along the way reaches hd resolution. Only in this way can we guarantee the full hd of video collection, coding, transmission, browsing, recording and playback.
3. Is a static image 5 megapixel camera HD surveillance camera?
No. A static image 5 megapixel camera may have only 1 megapixel of live video images resolution and even not real time.
4. HD only makes sense when it includes the front camera, management platform, storage system, browsing, display and other aspects. So having a whole HD solution is the real HD provider, not just a pure HD webcam.
5. It has high resolution dimensions but not high resolution (TVL). Is it HD camera?
