Is the 485 interface obsolete

485 interface is in large used for both electronic products and electrical control such as PLC control.
Compared with 232 serial port, 485 interface still has great use. For example, RS485 should be used for control and communication with more than 2 devices.

Compared with USB port, the transmission distance of USB port is short, the data transmission rate is high, and the transmission distance of RS485 is long, the data transmission rate is low.
RS485 is mainly used for industrial control, not to transmit large amounts of data.
