How to connect FOCUS ABT-100 Photoelectric Beam Detector

Unread post by vedard »

Active photoelectric infrared detector beam system is most used for perimeter security protection. It works as first place anti-theft residential security and commercial security. The beam system consists of transmitter beam and receive beam and builds up an invisible barrier on wall, balcony, yard. If someone enters into the protected area and blocks the beam light wall, it will trigger alarm.
Such as normal PIR detector, the beam system has N/O or N/C connection with alarm panel. And there is tamper resist relay contact output. If someone moves the beam or beam is under low battery status etc. non-working status, the beam system will trigger alarm.
So, there will be 7 connection terminals for receive beam. 2 terminals for power input + and -. COM, N/O, N/C for signal connection. TA+, TA- for tamper resistant output.
Many people will ignore connection of TA+ , TA-. That will reduce reliability and security of the beam system.

How to install infrared beams on wall

Unread post by vedard »

How to install infrared beams on wall?
There are two ways for installation of infrared beams.
1. Pillar Installation: There are two kinds of popular pillars: round shape and square shape. In the early days, round shape pillars were popular. Now, the situation is just the opposite. Square pillars are becoming more and more popular in the engineering field. The main reason is that the detector mounted on the square pillar would not rotate or move. In addition, there are a wide range of stainless steel, alloy, aluminum alloy pillars available for selection. Another method is using angle steel as the support.
The shape of the pillar can be "1", "Z" or curved, depending on the characteristics of the building and anti-theft requirements. The key point is that the fixing of the pillar must be firm, without displacement or shaking, easy for installation and prevention, and reduce false alarm.
2. Wall Installation: Active infrared detector manufacturers in the anti-theft market are now at the forefront of technology. They can provide infrared detectors with a horizontal 180 degree turning angle and an elevation of more than 20 degrees, such as FOCUS active infrared detectors HA, ABT, ABF series products, which can support the direct installation of detectors on the outer walls or fences of buildings.

In order to prevent pets and small animals from causing false alarm, the probe should be located more than 50 centimeters from the ground. Blocking time should be adjusted to a faster position to respond quickly to illegal intrusion.

The main function of the detector installed on the wall is to guard against man-made malicious overturning. It can be installed on the top and on the side. The detector installed on the top should be located higher than the fence and the top of the fence should be 25cm, so as to reduce the false alarm caused by birds and kittens moving on the wall. The anti-false alarm ability of four-beam detector is stronger than that of two-beam detector, and that of two-beam detector is stronger than that of single-beam detector.

Wall installation is to install the probe on side of the top of fence or the wall, generally for wall installation, mostly installed on the outside. This way can avoid the disturbance of the activities of birds and kittens.
For wall installation, the farthest horizontal distance between the detector installed and the wall should not be greater than 30 cm, which should be paid special attention to where the wall is curved.

Each method has its own advantages or disadvantages, and the engineers have their own preferences for each installation method. Users should choose according to their own building characteristics and anti-theft requirements.

How to Adjust the infrared beams

Unread post by vedard »

Optical axis adjustment of the light projector (transmitter terminal)

Open the outer cover of the probe, aim the eyes at the sighting device, and observe the effect inside the sighting device. The optical lens of the probe can be adjusted directly by hand in the range of 180 degrees. The screwdriver is used to adjust the upper and lower angle of the lens. The lens system has the adjustment range of up and down 12 degrees. The sighting of the receiver should fall into the central position of the aiming device.

In the adjustment process, attention should be paid not to cover the optical axis, so as not to affect the adjustment work.

The adjustment of the optical axis of the projector has a great influence on the sensitivity performance of the defense zone. Please carefully and repeatedly adjust it according to the correct steps.

Optical Axis Adjustment of Receiver beam terminal

The first step is to adjust the optical axis of the receiver according to the same method as "adjusting the optical axis of the light projector". At this time, the red warning ring light on the receiver goes out, the green indicator lights keep lighting on and no flash, indicating that the sleeve optical axis coincides normally, and the function of the projector and the receiver is normally working.

Step 2: There are two small holes on the receiver, marked with "+" and "-", which are used to test the infrared intensity of the receiver. The value is expressed by voltage, which is called photosensitive voltage. The test pen of the multimeter (red"+" and black"-") is inserted to measure the photosensitive voltage of the receiver. Repeatedly adjust the lens system to maximize the photosensitive voltage. In this way, the working state of the probe reaches its optimum state.

Notes: Four-beam detectors have two sets of optical systems. They need to cover the upper and lower lenses of the receiver separately and adjust the upper and lower photovoltaic values until they are consistent. The two optical systems of the older four-beam detectors are adjusted separately. Because of the corresponding relationship between the transmitter and the receiver, it is very difficult to adjust them. It needs to be adjusted carefully. If improperly handled, false alarm or dead zone will occur. ABF four-beam detector has integrated the two parts into one adjustment, and the construction of the project is much easier.

How to adjust blocking time of the beams detector

Unread post by vedard »

Infrared beam sensor blocking time adjustment

There is a blocking time adjusting button on the receiver. The blocking time of the probe can be adjusted between 50m/s and 500m/s. When the probe leaves the factory, the blocking time of the probe is adjusted to a standard position. Usually, this position is a relatively moderate state, considering the environment and the characteristics of the probe itself, so there is no special reason and no need to adjust it. Save blocking time. If it is necessary to adjust the blocking time for the reasons of fortification, in order to adapt to the changes of the environment. Generally speaking, the blocking time is short and the probe sensitivity is fast, but it is also sensitive to falling leaves, flying birds and so on, and the possibility of false alarm is increased. Long blocking time reduces the sensitivity of the probe and increases the possibility of missing the report. Engineers should adjust the blocking time according to the actual needs of the fortification

Links between Infrared Counter-fire Detector and Anti-theft Host

After the probe is set, the anti-disassembly switch is connected to the input circuit of the defense area, the connection is completed, the outer shell of the probe is covered, and the screw is tightened. It is required that the alarm lamp in the guard area should not flicker or light on the anti-theft host, and that there should be no alarm indication output in the guard area. Represents that the entire defense area is set up normally. Otherwise, the circuit should be checked, the probe should be re-debugged, and the state of the defense zone should be re-determined.

How to connect FOCUS ABT 100 Photoelectric Beam Detector

How about using Photoelectric beam systems? I guess infrared light beams can be extended throughout a hall and detect the intruder within the pre-defined space. Can't they?

There are two within a few miles of my house. One place most of the boxes dont work and it is a chore to get trivia on. So I play at other place which is a BWW.

The reason your platform didnt fit is because you missed the inset diagram of how L and R corner bulkheads are supposed to be located: their ends contact the interior of the hull sides, whereas you have them with their ends forming part of the outside.
